Carol Kemp, LCSW

I am licensed by the state of Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and by the National Board for Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor.  I hold a Bachelor of Education degree from Abilene Christian University (1981)and a Master of Education degree in Counseling from Southwest Texas State University (1994).

I will work with you so that we can gain a deeper understanding of how you may begin to heal from trauma you have survived as well as a clearer notion of how beliefs, emotions, and behaviors may be holding you back from the success, peace, and self-confidence that you seek.  We'll work best together if you are really ready to make changes that lead toward healing, personal growth, and well-being.  I work primarily with adults; my special areas of interest include anxiety, depression, grief, stress, trauma, relationships, and Christian counseling.  I deeply enjoy the work that I do and feel it is a great honor to walk with you on this journey.

My name is Kathryn Conly. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with close to thirty years experience. I have worked in a wide range of settings (private practice, inpatient, outpatient intensive care, and schools) with a large variation of individuals and their families. I work with clients suffering from depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, mood disorders, psychosis, and with relationship concerns. I do marriage counseling as well as family and child related conflicts. I have a non-judgmental approach with huge amounts of compassion and understanding for the discomforts and suffering of my clients. I am readily available and will commit to seeing you realize your goals in therapy. I utilize a range of therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral, solution focused, and relationship strategies. It is most important to identify what you want to get out of therapy and decide what approaches work best for you. In working with my clients, I draw wisdom from a perennial philosophy (philosophy which has survived over time and cultures), spiritual practices, and mindfulness techniques. I believe that all human suffering and psycho-emotional problems are NOT a necessary factor of our human existence. I believe we can learn to be fearless and unstoppable in our dreams in life, we just need realize where we are being "stopped" in our life aspirations. I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully becoming your "life coach" in problem solving, confronting troublesome issues, and obtaining your life goals. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and I wish you the best in your life journey.

Carol Kemp is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has been working with children and families for over 26 years in various capacities. She grew up in a military family, worked for the military, traveled to many different cultures, and has grown to love serving those who know their individual journey has challenges including traumatic challenges that can keep us down or lift us up as survivors. Her areas of focus include trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, PTSD, mood disorders, Bipolar disorder, behavioral problems in children, parenting, and LGBT issues. Once leaving the teaching profession, Jennifer worked for CPS conducting kinship studies for placement. This gave her the understanding of childhood trauma and the importance of mental healthcare. This cemented her desire to further her education to become a clinical social worker. This allows her to help people individually and in groups with their mental health.

Mary Smith, LPC-Associate

I graduated from Tarleton State University in 2022 with my Masters of Social Work: Direct Practice. I went to college while raising three children who keep me busy outside of work. I enjoy reading in my spare time, and playing co-ed basketball. I have been working with veterans and first responders for the past two years and adolescents for the past three. I was previously an intern at the Warriors Research institute in which I was trained to provide Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy as well as the Unified protocol that implements the most effective practices of PE, CPT, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

I chose to work with veterans because every male in my direct family has served and I saw their struggles and wanted to learn how to best support people like them. I am here to help people find and practice interventions to overcome anger, depression, anxiety, PTSD and whatever may be negatively affecting their quality of life. I see therapy as, we are both human beings trying to climb our own mountains, and if you’d like I can turn my head to help you see the next best step. I like for my sessions to feel like conversations with a trusted friend who has your best interests/happiness as a priority. My hours are typically on the weekends and after work hours, and I am available through text throughout the day if an emergency session is ever needed.

Sabrina Taylor, LMSW

I grew up in western North Carolina and had an elder brother. Also, as a 14-year military veteran who worked as a healthcare expert known as a "combat medic," I knew I wanted to be a social worker focusing in mental health for a long time. I attended Mary Hardin-Baylor University for my undergraduate degree, which began as a major in nursing but ended up being in clinical psychology. I awoke one day after completing volunteer hours at a local food bank, which began this path, and I went on to get a master’s degree in social work. In addition, I am seeking my Licensed Clinical Social Worker certification. As a social work major, I have had to think deeply about how my actions affect others and myself, and I am driven to help others along the same road by providing compassion and understanding for difficulties such as anxiety, depression, trauma, communication issues, and relationship issues. In my free time, I enjoy reading, dancing, yoga, wall Pilates, and spending time with my wonderful sons and friends who have become like family.
